Be Ready for Flooding

I brought the Floodmobile and Mary Long Dhonau OBE, aka ‘Flood Mary’, to West Cumbria recently to help residents and businesses prepare for flooding during the winter months

Flooding can happen at any time of year and can affect homes, businesses and vital services. Being prepared helps reduce damage and keeps people safe.

Report blocked gullies and drains to Cumberland Council

Report flooding to Cumberland Council online or by e-mail: lfrm@cumberland.gov.uk

If you see any issues on the roads, please report them to the Cumberland Council Highways team at or call the Cumberland Council Highways Hotline on: 0300 373 3736. You can also contact the council on 0300 373 3730 for help and support. This line is available 24 hours.

Advice from United Utilities

For water supply issues, contact United Utilities on 0345 672 3723. Customers are advised that they can sign up to the Priority Service Register – which is a free to join and enables utility companies, including energy suppliers, electricity, gas and water networks to look after customers who have extra communication, access or safety needs.
